Sage Wile,
LCSW

Hi, I’m Sage!

Growing into the person you want to be can be challenging— and sometimes scary! Whether you’re looking for support for yourself or with someone you love, therapy can be a valuable tool. I am proud to partner with you in this journey as we navigate whatever has brought you here.

Background & Education

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Delaware, with 3+ years of experience following the completion of my Master’s Degree from Widener University. My educational and professional journey has provided me the opportunity to work with survivors of trauma and interpersonal violence, as well as families, adolescents, and individual adults. I now provide therapy to couples and individuals, with a focus on folks with sexually marginalized identities (sex workers or queer/kinky/poly people!).

Therapeutic Style

I am a relationship-centered practitioner who believes that the work we do requires trust before all else. This trust is interpersonal (between us) and intrapersonal (between you and yourself). Using a variety of interventions and modalities, we will identify what you want from your time in therapy and take those steps together.

Depending on your history, traumatic past, or experiences, that trust can sometimes be hard to access-- but we move at your pace. I am confident in our ability, over time, to navigate the journey of turning inward and knowing yourself.

Identity

I am a values-driven therapist and must acknowledge the intersectionality of professional and personal self, as my identities inform how I come into the clinical space.

I am a proud member of the queer community, and I simultaneously acknowledge my power and privilege as a white nonbinary person. I hold space for our complex and often difficult sociopolitical context.

My values and work are progressive, feminist, queer, anti-racist, trans-affirming, body-positive, and poly/kink-friendly. My practice is a safe space for folks feeling vulnerable. At the end of the day, I am a human being, and may occasionally disclose relevant information about myself if it impacts your treatment.

Modalities

I am first and foremost an eclectic and radical social worker looking to collaborate on your goals. I am informed and comfortable with a variety of therapeutic models, including:

  • FFT (Functional Family Therapy)
  • IFS (Internal Family Systems)
  • EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)

Specializations

My educational background and work history have focused on trauma, human sexuality, and relationships. I have a strong social work background that helps me see people in context. I now specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate anything including identity development, gender and sexuality exploration, communication issues, sexual dysfunction or concern, or other unexpected challenges.

I am proud to be a part of a mental health practice that is staunchly sex-positive and acknowledges the importance of sexual and gender identities in our everyday lives. I am passionate about offering trauma-informed sex therapy to anyone who feels they need it.
