Happy Holidays: The Center CD’s Naughty & Nice List

This month’s blog is brought to you by the joy of the holidays with a dash of the expectation that also present is exhaustion of very  little bandwidth to read a long blog. (Am I Right?) So here’s our fun (and brief) Naughty & Nice list for December:  The Nice List is a list of self-care tips to help your mental health during this holiday season and the Naughty List is (an even nicer) list of sexy options to keep your sex life “sugar & spicy” during the busy holiday.

Nice List:

Here are some easy-access mental health tools to keep you ‘Holiday Present” for the season.  (See what I did there?)

  • Breathe.  Breathing  slowly and counting 1-2-3-4 in and 1-2-3-4 out is a great tool you always have with you during the busy season and beyond.
  • Ground Yourself.  Use the 5-4-3-2-1 technique if you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or flooded and need a technique to calm yourself that takes just a couple of minutes.  Check out the link here:  5-4-3-2-1.
  • Be Self-Compassionate.  Remind yourself as often as needed that you are worthy of love and kindness and that we all make mistakes.  Breathe through any negative self talk to bring yourself back to present and re-set into compassionate self-talk.
  • Gratitude Journal.  Write down just 3 small things you are grateful for each day can help rewire and train your brain to “look for the good” in each day, helping you to scan for the good instead of scanning for the negative.  We will always find proof of what we’re searching for so if it’s things to be grateful for, then that’s a practice worth having.

Naughty List:

Who doesn’t love to be a little naughty?  Here are some ideas to keep your love & sex life alive over the holidays

  • Sit on each other’s lap and ask for what you want this year!  Santa / Elf costumes optional, but encouraged.
  • Redefine sexy playtime beyond intercourse, or goal-driven sex (1 minute makeout sessions anyone?)
  • Welcome responsive desire and not reuquiring spontaneous desire as an expected standard.  (What’s that?  Check out our video here: Responsive v. Spontaneous Desire)
  • Make time for cuddles and touch just for the purpose of pleasure without obligation
  • Solo sex! (‘Nuff said).
  • Ask each other:  How would you like to be touched for 5 minutes? And then if it’s consensual, go for it.  Take turns with this question to each other as many times as you like.

Bonus Homeplay:

Create a post-holiday New Years list of 2026 Sexploration Intentions (for yourself or your relationships) and if you want to really see if it will happen, put those intentions on a calendar where you both can access it.  Goals written down are more powerfully effective.  I hope you’ve enjoyed our blog and it’s given you some joyful ideas to deck your mental halls.

Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Year!

In gratitude
